Read moreMost exterior paints need air and surface temperatures above 50°F (some modern formulas go down to 35°F) and a few dry hours before evening dew sets in. In Central Indiana that usually means late April through October is the comfortable window.
Late spring and early fall are ideal: mild temperatures, lower humidity and fewer scorching afternoons that make paint dry too fast. Mid-summer works too — we simply follow the shade around the house.

Schedule an exterior estimateIf your cabinet boxes are solid wood or plywood, the layout works for you and the doors are in good shape, painting is usually the smarter choice. It costs a fraction of new cabinets and your kitchen is back in service within days.
